Section-by-Section Collaborative Drafting

Draft and review one coherent section before extending the document.

Editorially reviewed

These examples and illustrative results are independently authored teaching materials, not measured model results.

Use case

Coauthor a migration guide with confirmed compatibility but unresolved rollout. Teaching facts say old clients remain supported during transition and an adaptation layer exists; date/rollback criteria are absent. Draft known sections without hiding gaps in a complete-looking document.

Mechanism

Agree audience, outline and section objective; draft one reviewable unit from facts. Incorporate consequential feedback and record settled/open points before extension. Leave named rollout questions while independent compatibility work proceeds. Read the whole document for cross-section consistency instead of mechanically repeating approval gates.

Bad example

Write the entire guide immediately, guessing rollout date and rollback conditions alongside confirmed compatibility, then request one final review.

Good example

Draft compatibility from the supplied old-client/adaptation facts, show it and record corrections. Keep rollout date/rollback criteria open until its owner provides them, continuing independent content. Preserve confirmed decisions/provenance and inspect whole-document flow. Do not invent steps or make section collaboration a mandatory reapproval for every edit.

Why the change matters

A coherent section focuses feedback while missing facts stay visible without blocking other material. Whole-document review then reconciles local choices that might otherwise conflict.

Observable expectation

The fixture has a factual compatibility section and open rollout items without invented dates. Changed old-client conditions update that section and related references.

Trace completed sections to confirmed facts and keep unanswered feedback distinct from acceptance.

Limits

Settled requirements can support a full draft without artificial questions. Source fixed counts are workflow choices; adapt to real gaps. Teaching rollout prose grants no release permission.
