Dual-Model Adversarial Planning

Develop alternatives independently before cross-reviewing their trade-offs.

Editorially reviewed

These examples and illustrative results are independently authored teaching materials, not measured model results.

Use case

Choose synchronous or queued image processing. Teaching constraints require acknowledgment within 1 second, processing may take several seconds, and accepted work must survive restart; cost limits are unknown. Two planners need equal inputs and independent initial alternatives.

Mechanism

Within authorized multi-model planning, give both identical requirements, constraints and unknowns without exposing each other’s or the facilitator’s answer. Save drafts before cross-reviewing timeout, restart and duplication failures. Synthesize alternatives, evidence, trade-offs and unknowns without forced consensus. The owner chooses using facts and preferences; external data/costs follow actual authorization.

Bad example

Show both models the same preferred plan and discuss until they agree on the best architecture. Remove disagreements.

Good example

Give two planners the acknowledgment, durability and unknown-cost constraints independently. Save synchronous/queue proposals before cross-questioning failure cases. Preserve drafts and material disagreement, identify load/cost assumptions needing evidence and present an owner decision rather than a model vote.

Why the change matters

Independent drafts reduce direct anchoring on the first answer; cross-review then exposes different failure surfaces. Preserved disagreement gives the final choice reviewable reasons instead of hidden trade-offs.

Observable expectation

Teaching review retains both drafts and addresses long processing versus synchronous acknowledgment, queue persistence/retry costs and unknown load. Restart must be considered. Agreement without evidence still leaves a conclusion unverified.

Limits

Models may share training biases; opinion count is not truth. Separate perspectives without distinct models must be labeled honestly. Frozen invocation details support the mechanism only; this entry does not authorize delegation, external sharing or paid calls.
